Jambalya, Crawfish Pie and File' Gumbo

I hope everyone had as good a Father's Day Celebration as we did this weekend.

I'm not sure how long Wintzell's Oyster House has been around in downtown Mobile, but we used to go here on Friday nights and eat when we were dating in the 70's.
And it was old then.

The walls are covered with photos and jokes.

The boys had raw oysters, but they're not for me!!

I'll take mine fried, thank you..

File' gumbo.

Nothings better than Gulf Coast seafood!

Good food, good times, and a Great Weekend!

Hope you all have a wonderful week,

Rose Garden

My front yard is in full bloom.

Peace Rose

Running Peace Rose

Ms. Wilma had to check out what I was looking at.
Monkey Business rose.

Love Rose

When I sit on the front porch the air smells like rose perfume.

The gardenias will bloom next.

Have a great week,

My Etsy and eBay finds this week.

I found the 1971 College issue Glamour.
I wore this out the summer of 71 looking at it over and over!!
Can't wait to look at it again!
The Fall clothes were so pretty that year..

Vintage barrettes

pretty vintage dresses, wish I was skinny.....

Pretty Fire King bowls

Salt and Pepper Jadeite

Sweet buttons for my collection.

Love my tea sets!

Available at Etsy.
Still wish I was skinny...

More Jadeite.
This one I haven't bought, it's a little pricey.

There are so many nice embroidery pieces at eBay and Etsy.
This is from the UK.

Vintage Finds

I've been eBay shopping again, can't help myself.
I got a good price on these Pyrex bowls.

There are only seven of these dotted glasses, but what the heck.
I didn't need them but they will be fun to use this summer.

I found these lovely millinery flowers for crafting.

Pretty box of old Christmas cards.

Sweet coloring book.
I'm still watching this item, haven't bought it yet.

I got on a Tupperware kick this week.
Love this stuff.

They make the best iced tea pitchers.

I saved the best for last.
I know, I have a perfectly good food processor and a blender.
But I had one of these gadgets in the 80's and my youngest son and I must have made a million french fries
one summer with this thing.
We had a garden full of potatoes so we had french fries, hash browns, you name it.
We bought ketchup from Sam's Club by the case!

I don't know what happened to my old Kitchen Magician, we probably wore it out.
So, I couldn't pass this up when I saw it on eBay the other day!

I have to go check up on Ms.Wilma.

She's in there bidding on a new dress for the 4th of July.
I have to make sure she doesn't over-bid!

Have a great week,
Hugs,

Vintage Supply Swap

Shirley's Swap Box

I was getting ready for work yesterday.

Wilma was practicing her voice lessons.

Dothan was plotting to kill Wilma......

And

There was a knock at the door,
The mail lady left us a package!

Shirley's Swap Box arrived!!

Have you ever, ever, ever, in your long-legged life seen anything this cute??

I'm sorry y'all, but if I ever make anything this adorable
I'm afraid it will never leave my house!
Shirley is so talented.

And it was loaded to the "Big Top" with treasure!

Look at these clowns, how sweet is this?
The background gift wrap paper was included, too.

Colorful buttons and pretty sewing needles.

"Little Golden Book" bookplates printed on sticky paper with my name on them!
She went to a lot of work on this swap.

Look at this.
Vintage Paperdoll clothes banner!

There was more, so much more, and I love every bit of it!
And everything she sent was things that I didn't have.

Shirley's baby girl, Daisy, sent these doxie cards to Ms. Wilma!
She had a fit over them...

I felt so blessed, I almost cried.

I don't usually blog about sad things,
God knows there is enough of that.

But aren't we blessed to live in a country where we can have fun and freedom to do the things we want to do?

Thank you so much Shirley from http://zettasaprons.blogspot.com/ for this happiness you sent to me,

and thank you Elizabeth at www.creativebreathing.blogspot.com for hosting.

You are both blessings to me.
