Skinnie Scottie

Does he not just "announce" Christmas, or what?

He's adorable!

He was waiting for me when I arrived home from work.
I was so excited.
Look at that sweet face!
Wilma almost got jealous.

He is the creation of sweet Meri

She also sent the sweet little toy on the left and a beautiful card with him.
I am very happy, Santa has now sent everything I wanted!

Look at those paws, and his clothes and that hat! And he has a perky little tail wagging in the back!

Look at the pretty pin he is wearing on his shoulder.
She puts so much love, care and detail in her work, you can just tell she enjoys it!

Visit her blog and see all of the beautiful things she has made.

Have a good day,
from my house to yours,
Dorothy

Gingerbread Coffee and a Winter Mystery

Good Monday Morning!

Did you know Dunkin' Donuts made this coffee?

You can have your cookies and drink them too!
So Good.

I was doing the happy dance too.

I'm having fun painting my little houses for Erica's Swap.

They need lots of snow!

And smoke billowing from the chimney.

A new mystery just came in the mail.
I am blessed.

My youngest son says he is doing Thanksgiving Dinner this year.
He doesn't want me to lift a finger.
I can handle that. :-)

Blessings to you,
from me and Ms. Wilma

1950 Christmas

It's going to be a great Christmas at my house this year, I can just feel it. The theme this year is "A 1950 Christmas".

This little Tiny Tears and her toy jumpy chair is on her way to my house to celebrate.

And so are these sewing needle cards. Check out the Atomic Rocket!
Copy and use the the graphics if you want to.

Somewhere in my shed I have one of these.

Need to get one of these to shine on the tree.

This is what the tree looks like.
In 1964 my dad bought a 6foot tree like this with the color wheel for our Christmas.
We used it for a few years, dad thought it was the neatest thing!
He always loved new gadgets.

I can't get enough of these vintage ornaments. When I was little, I could stand at the tree and just stare inside those indented ornaments. I would be transformed to another world where it snowed and Santa Claus lived there!!

Putz houses are so pretty.

So sweet.
I don't know if all my children can come home for Christmas.
One works overseas, I hope he can be here.

There will be lots of baking and happiness this year at my house.
What are your plans?

If I can just keep these little monsters out of the tree!

Wilma was such a cute baby!  That face doesn't fool me, she's a regular little shredding machine!

Have a great weekend, from my house to yours.

Vintage Toys

I'm getting ready for Christmas. These are some of the new toys I've bought for myself.

A sweet little Doll Highchair.

A new dress for Tiny Tears.

She's still on the wish list. I haven't decided yet.

And so is she, I think I like her blond hair and her dress the best.

This is a sweet childrens book. They don't show the inside, I don't know if it has color pics or not.
But the cover is fantastic.

I won this bid. I Like the graphics.

Look what a pretty picture. I feel like I'm sitting beside my grandmother when I look at this.

Sweet times.

I'm reading this British cozy by Hazel Holt right now.
Her books never disappoint.

And somehow, we missed this book by Kristin Hannah.

My co-worker Sherry read this last night. Kept her up all night reading and crying, it was that good!
Amazon describes it as a book about triumph of hope, and the meaning of home.
Oh and Sherry has a new blog at www.sherrysscribblings.blogspot.com
She's our Genealogist at the library and if you ever need info about anyone in this part of the country, she's your go-to person.

Oh, I orded this little book the other day from amazon.
Can't wait to see it!

I just love making my Christmas List for myself, don't you?

You know, with four grown sons, and NO GRANDKIDS to play dolls with, you would think they might find their poor old mother one of these for Christmas

LOL!

Have a wonderfilled week and much Joy and Happiness
And remember, "You're never too old to have a happy childhood"

Love from me and Ms. Wilma

Vintage Graphics

Two sweet, elderly, unmarried sisters passed recently and left a house full of belongings with no heirs. Their old scrapbooks were donated to the Library Genealogy Department. Here are some of the beautiful old clippings that fell out when we opened them.

Nurse's Song

William Blake

When the voices of children are heard on the green,
And laughing is heard on the hill,
My heart is at rest within my breast,
And everything else is still.

‘Then come home, my children, the sun is gone down,
And the dews of night arise;
Come, come leave off play, and let us away
Till the morning appears in the skies.’

‘No, no, let us play, for it is yet day,
And we cannot go to sleep;
Besides, in the sky the little birds fly,
And the hills are all cover'd with sheep.’

‘Well, well, go and play till the light fades away,
And then go home to bed.’
The little ones leapèd, and shoutèd, and laugh'd
And all the hills echoèd.
