Anita's Beautiful bags
I want to show you this gorgeous bag I ordered from Anita at
Isn't this the prettiest thing? Her work is very professional and she even made the crocheted flower pin too!
It's trimmed in grey velvet and red check and the inside has pretty patterned fabric and lots of pockets for your cell phone and things. I just love it, it came all the way from Germany. Check out her blog for more of her pretty things.
I got this little headband for Alyssa, my cute little niece for a song at Pick Your Plum online.
And this chicken fabric I ordered from the Quilt Shop in Florida. Susie at
http://littlesusiehomemaker-lilsusiehomaker.blogspot.com/ told me where to order this. Wasn't she sweet? This is for my kitchen curtains that I HAVEN'T MADE YET!!
But I will!
This little Tea Time tin with tea and teacup is a gift for my mother for Mother's Day.
I'll get her a good British Mystery to go with it, she'll love that.
Alyssa
Isn't she adorable.
Till next time,

Who cooks for you, who cooks for you-all?
I spotted this owl on the way to church one Sunday morning last year. I don't think I ever posted this picture. I stuck my camera out of the sunroof of the car and he sat still and posed for me. I think he is a Barred Owl, according to the Audubon Bird Guide of Eastern Land Birds.
Sometimes I sit on my front porch and watch the Pileated Woodpeckers and Red-headed Woodpeckers. Daddy used to call the large woodpeckers Indian hens. They are plentiful in the rotten pines, I guess they make their nest there.

Of course, Dothan likes to bird-watch too. The mockingbirds and blue jays swoop down and run him off.
He's really a scaredy cat.
I saw a pair of pretty Bluebirds at the camp last week.
We see lots of these herons on the river, also. They scoop down and catch fish!
I used to see lots of colorful birds when I was growing up, but I never see these anymore. I don't think the songbirds are as plentiful as they were in the 1950's and 60's.

I started out to do a post about food, but I couldn't do it. One of my patrons at my library took her own life Wednesday night. She said she was tired of being in so much pain all the time. She was a nurse, about my age. Her dad is our Sheriff. A life lost too soon. We don't know why, but someday we will.

I don't mean they are biting me! : D
But they are biting crickets!!
A good time was had by all!
But they are biting crickets!!
I think I caught this one!
I'm reading this now. Very good.
Watching this. Excellent.
And looking forward to this release. But I will surely miss DCI Tom Barnaby played by John Nettles.
Can't wait for this to be released, also. I love the irascible Doc Martin.
Have a good week,
Much happiness, from me and Ms. Wilma

Camping on the Alabama River
Hello There,
Hope everyone had a blessed Easter.
We had glorious weather all week-end.
So peaceful. Fishing lowers your blood pressure!
Some of my little cacti are blooming by the porch.

We had a great time at the camp on the Alabama River, fishing.

Houseboats dot the riverbank.
Of course, I spent some time on the screened porch reading my Kindle.
I downloaded a book I have wanted to read but hadn't gotten around to it.
If you have not read this yet, please do. I wept for this little girl in the book. It broke my heart, I'd say this book is every bit as good as "Winter Garden" by Kristen Hannah.
Back at home, back to work and back to cooking! But I finally got to make those yummy stuffed mushrooms. De-lish!
Thanks http://www.northerncottage.net/ for the recipe.
~~Have a great day~~

Amaryllis in Bloom
Spring has arrived at my house. Some of my amaryllis are in bloom and the roses have started to show off!
The Knockout roses are already in full bloom. That is a running pink New Dawn to the right of the Knockouts. It is full of blooms. I'm training it to grow on the porch banister. I've hung a pot of sweet smelling petunias over them.
Mr. Rooster.
Pete planted 75 tomatoes and peppers already! I know what I'll be doing this summer! Canning!!
And here are two good books to read when you finish dyeing Easter eggs this week-end. Oldies but still good.
I'm going to the fish camp this weekend (have to go show my husband how to catch some fish! lol ) We have no little ones to hide eggs with or take to church, but one of my sons is coming up to spend time with us Saturday.
Happy Easter
Till next time,
love from me and Wilma
