Halloween Banner

Look out! Look out, boys! Clear the track!

The witches are here! They've all come back!

They hanged them high, but they wouldn't lie still,

For cats and witches are hard to kill;

They buried them deep but they wouldn't die,--

Books say they did, but they lie! they lie!

On their well-trained broomsticks mounted high
Seen like shadows against the sky;
Crossing the tracks of owls and bats,
Hugging before them their coal-black cats.

Poem from "Broomstick Train; Or Return Of The Witches"

Craft Suitcase and a Good Ghost Story

Hi there, hope your Sunday is sunny and peaceful.
Mine is. My knee is healing nicely and I'm enjoying the weekend.
Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Friends have come over to visit today.

They brought books for me to read.

And I have lots of my favorite magazines to look at.

And daydream.

Mollie Makes came with a free crochet hook. Nice.

Lots of new toys in the craft suitcase to play with.

My furry friends always keeping me company.

And tonight I will curl up under the quilts and finish this really wonderful ghost story set in
a snowy, remote village in France after WWI. Makes me want to build a fire in the fireplace.

A Perfect Day.

Hugs from me and Ms. Wilma and Huey P. Long

Vintage Books and Vintage Knees

Hi everyone, I'm so glad to be able to sit up at the computer this morning. It's such a beautiful, cool day outside, it's starting to feel like fall a little bit.

I have some vintage children's books that I won on eBay to show you.

This one has pretty graphics.

I love these Ladybird Books for children.

We had the Colliers Encyclopedias while growing up in the fifties and sixties. My brother got the Children's Classics, so I found the whole set on eBay last week for a song. I will still go back and read out of these sometimes.

A friend gave me this book, is this not too cool? I didn't know they had a Nancy Drew Cookbook!
I believe this one was published in the seventies.

I bid on Midge, but lost....

I remember these from childhood, they could make a cupcake seem like magic.

Tiny Tears got herself a new bottle last week.

I'm still looking at these, haven't decided yet. The main colors are pink and brown.
I do like them.

Vintage Knees

I want to say "thank you" to everyone for your sweet thoughts and prayers over my knee surgery. I went in Friday and got out on Sunday. I have six weeks of rehab and physical therapy.  I'll spare you the picture of my knee, but with 26 staples and a 3 1/4 inch incision, the pain is pretty tough. I am trying to back off on the pain meds, they make me a little loopy (can you tell)!!

In a few weeks, I hope to be up and running again playing with Ms. Wilma.

Looking like this! Ha!

Hoping you all have a wonderful week,
Love, from me and Ms. Wilma

Halloween Postcards

Are you enjoying the Holiday weekend? I sure am.

I browsed thru eBay early this morning, looking at Halloween postcards and toys.

They have some nice choices, but are a little pricey.

Cooked a good lunch. Rotel Chicken Casserole.
(This is their pic, we ate most of mine~!)

Finished reading this book this morning.
It is worth the time, very good.

Then I downloaded this one on my Kindle.

And this. Just came out this morning, and they say it is the best Patterson has ever written.

I will be away for awhile, I'm having knee replacement surgery this Friday.
I hope I'm up and running soon, and back to reading my favorite blogs,

Bye for now,
Love from me and Wilma
