Have a Vintage Thanksgiving

I am so looking forward to an old-fashioned Thanksgiving this year.
Good food and family gathered round.
I'm tired of politics and bad news, just want some good memories.

Well, this is a picture of our new house in Mississippi.
We finally found a place we liked.

There's a palm tree in the front yard!

This is the back yard. NO FLOWERS!
You know I'll be busy planting roses and day lilies!
But the back yard has a chain-link fence for Wilma to stay in when she goes out to play!

We took Ms.Wilma down to the beach.

She was not impressed.
Would not go voluntarily to the water!

"I'm not going in that water!"

"Where is the car?"

I don't think I'll ever get too much of this.

This pic is from Pinterest, I don't know who to give credit.
But it is exactly the color of paint we used to paint the new living and dining room this weekend.
I'm sore all over!!

I'm still working till Dec.31, then retirement here I come.
We spend every weekend down there at the new house painting and having fun.
The only problem we've found is Wilma will not go from one room to the other.
She is afraid of something. It may be the floors.
She is used to carpet and there is hardwood there.

Oh great, now I'm scared!
I hope they're friendly ghosts!

I plan to cook Thanksgiving Dinner at the new place and Christmas too.
Getting exciting......

Lots of new books out right now.
Good reading.

I'm enjoying Charles Krauthammer's new book.

Have a great week!
Hugs, from me and Ms.Wilma

Oh, I love your new house! The palm tree will have that neat sound when the wind rustles the leaves. Love those big stacks of books...makes me giddy to think of reading them all. Enjoy your week my friend. It's nice to hear from you. I've missed you and wonder what vintage things you've found...like dolls! Hugs!

You new house looks lovely, and just waiting for you to make new memories. I am sure Miss Wilma will soon settle, our dog wasn't impressed when we first moved here. Too funny about her avoiding the water, our beagle is the same, the two Labradors are just the opposite!

I like your new house, and I am sure that Wilma will get used to the different surface feel under her little feet after a while. Just don't pick her up and carry her around, or she'll always expect you to do it ;-) Instead, place her food bowl where she can see it but has to walk to get there.

Your new page background is very nice, too!

So that's where you have been! Busy Busy! Well the house looks great! Wellie is jealous that Wilma has a fenced-in backyard.
She also wants Wilma to know that she hates the water too!

Thank you for showing all the books. I needed a new list!

WELCOME to Mississippi!!!!

Congrats on a great house.

Ms. Wilma will get use to it. Might be that the echos on the floor are what she is not use too.

Once the walls and rooms are furnished it won't be so loud.

No wonder you've been scarce Dorothy, You've been a busy woman! just love your new house. Oh, I miss the palm trees we had in FL! Mr. Doyle used to hate the water, but loves it now, so there is hope for Ms. Wilma. It does take them some getting used to.

So much to read, so little time...thanks for sharing your stacks! :) Pam

So happy for your retirement coming up and your new home! Very exciting things going on! I love the color that you used to paint, it looks like the same color as my wall that runs through my kitchen to my dining room! A nice neutral shade.
Ms. Dorothy will warm up to the changes. It probably is the floor she is not used too yet. She looks so cute!
Blessings,
Susie
