Fresh Lettuce and Old Baskets

Hello, and welcome to the new year! I predict nothing but good things for 2012. We are starting the year off right by eating a little healthier around our house. Fresh lettuce from our garden picked in a basket I made about 30 years ago. Also a pretty turnip root, sweet as candy.

Turkey pizza with lowfat cheese. Not too bad for you!

I just bought this new jelly roll designed by Fig Tree and Co. at http://www.figtreequilts.typepad.com/
Lovely colors. I'm commited to sewing a quilt top in 2012.

And this wonderful book "Super- Cute Felt" by Laura Howard at http://www.bugsandfishes.blogspot.com/   And I bought some felt too, so I have to make some of her cute things!!

Our new cookbook for 2012.

If I can just keep my nose out of the Murder Mysteries long enough!!

Remember, if you want to have fun, you have to make it yourself. Stop waiting for someone else to make it happen.

Have a HAPPY HAPPY  2012!
~~Dorothy~~

What a charming blog you have! Thank you so much for following Zetta's Aprons. I'm so glad to meet a new blogger. I too love books...mysteries the most. I have to admit, though, I haven't read as much since I started blogging. =D

Looks like some great books! We are eating fresh lettuce , broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage and spinach from our garden. There is nothing like fresh vegetables and I think I appreciate them more in winter.

A lovely post! I love your optimism - the Lao Tzu quote is a fantastic mindset to live by. The colours in your jelly roll look good enough to eat :)

Hello Dorthy!
Thanks for joining Pernilles blog. You are som much welcome. I'm Pernilles "mom", and I really like to see the creativity in your blog.
We live in the middle of Norway. And "we" are, me and my boyfriend, and Pernille, who came to us in December.
I like to write short stories about Pernille, so then we started blogging. And "dad" is the one behind the camera.
Wish you a nice weekend.
Greetings from Norway and "mom".

Those look like some great books! I want to do more with felt--it seems like it would be pretty easy to work with, so it's right up my alley!
