The City of Fair Hope

Hello everyone,

I'm so far behind I think I'm first!  We have been blessed this week at the library with donations, and I've been busy processing and cataloging. I don't know when I'll get finished. Just look at some of these titles:

And at least that many painting books and biographies and books about England, Ireland, and Scotland.

I feel a little giddy and light-headed, I think I died and went to heaven! (Did I mention I was falling behind?)

I Can't Stop Reading!!

This past week-end we had the pleasure of going to the Fairhope Crafts and Art Fair in the beautiful City of Fairhope. For those of you who have never heard of this place, here is a brief description from wikipedia:

Fairhope was founded in November, 1894 on the site of former Alabama City as a utopian single tax colony by the "Fairhope Industrial Association": a group of 28 followers of economist Henry George who had incorporated earlier that year in Des Moines, Iowa.^[4] Their corporate constitution explained their purpose in founding a new colony:

"to establish and conduct a model community or colony, free from all forms of private monopoly, and to secure to its members therein equality of opportunity, the full reward of individual efforts, and the benefits of co-operation in matters of general concern

Beautiful Azalea Trail Maids from Mobile were on hand for photos.

Several artists were there selling their wares.

So many pretty things.

We finished off Saturday by going to my son Jeremy and brother, Chuck's house and cooking out. They grilled steaks, cooked a feast, a good time was had by all.

By Sunday morning I couldn't crawl out of bed!

Today is the first day of Spring. Our weather is already in the 80's and pretty and sunny.
