I've been feeling like one of these crones!
But not smiling....

I've been awfully sick, I found out I am diabetic and didn't know it.Not fun, but I'm much better now. I'm getting Vintage, myself!
I've missed so much!
Laura emailed me and told me about the Halloween Spoolie Swap at Debs. I'm in!
Have you seen Laura's grand-baby at www.thatissovintageohmy.blogspot.com/2013/08/babyface-youve-got-cutest-little.html
That child is TOO adorable!!
I've been busy getting ready to retire this December and we have decided to move back to my beloved Mississippi. We have found a house near the beaches and I can't wait! I will have lots of flowers to dig up and move!
Been to eBay this morning checking out Halloween and vintage toys.
I like to play this game and this is a cute gameboard!
I bid on these, don't know if I'll win!
Sweet graphics
This is a cute set, but too pricey for me.
My little sister and I used to make mud pies with our dishes and we would hold the red ones up to the sunshine and look thru them, I remember these!
sweet toys from the past.
Love the pink...
We took Ms. Wilma to the beach last week-end.
She loved the sand but not the water,
guess she thought it was a cold bath!
Blessings,
Dorothy and Ms.Wilma

Oh Dorothy, I'm sorry to hear you have been sick. Glad you are feeling better now. With diet and exercise you can really help control the diabetes.
Sounds like you have some exciting things ahead with you retirement and moving to Mississippi.
Take care,
Barb
I'm sorry about your health Dorothy. My mom has diabetes and I know it was scary when we first found out. But she settled into her diet and exercise routine and learned pretty quickly how she could control it. I hope you're feeling better real soon.
Moving is really exciting! I can't wait for you to show us the beaches!
Hugs to Miss Wilma
Erica :)
ps I took Wellie to the beach for the first time this summer and she was terrified of the water. heehee
I have missed you and Ms. Wilma. Sorry you have been sick. If you have any questions about the diabetes, feel free to ask me. I have type 1. Will be praying for you.
Sorry to hear you have been ill.
I loved this post, so nostalgic!
I'm so sorry to hear about your diabetes . . . my husband also has it, but meds keep it under control.
Congratulations on your retirement in December and your moving to the Mississippi shore. I can't wait to watch you decorate your new home :)
You will blog about it, right? It would be fun to go along on your home search . . . too :)
Have a lovely weekend, and I do hope that you get to feeling better very soon. You are in my prayers.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
So nice to see you back! I know that we take our health for granted until we are sick; or at least that was my case while driving up and down the road for two years to Mayo. Glad to hear you know what it is and step by step you'll learn to do the right things and stay healthy. Son did tech school in Mississippi, pretty houses by that water front! Good for you retirement dreamer!
Happy to see a post from you - take care of yourself!!
Love all the vintage pics!!
I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell, but hopefully now that you know what the problem is, you can take steps to get back to feeling healthy once more.
Exciting news about moving, a lot of hard work ahead, but well worth it.
I like the red dishes, I haven't seen any like those before. I always enjoy seeing the vintage illustrations, either in books or on packaging.
Oh, my mother-in-law has diabetes and she keeps herself very healthy, just follow the rules and you will be fine too!!
Moving to the beaches in Mississippi! Fantastic, let me know when I can come and walk on the beach with you! (Just kidding, the last time I was at an American beach was in 2000!!!)
I dressed up like a witch for Halloween once. It was sad, because I really didn't have to work at it too hard! LOL!
Glad to hear you are on the mend! How fun to be looking forward to finding your retirement home.
I'm so very sorry to hear you have been ill. I'm glad that you are feeling better! You have been missed! ;)

Glad to hear you are better, and now that you know what the problem is, you can tackle it.
The new place sounds great, and I hope you'll let us see some pictures soon.
Love the toys!
Glad to hear your feeling better! Love all your pictures and things!! So fun! xo Holly
Hello Dorothy!
I'm sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well. But I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. My husband is disabled and he is also a diabetic. I try to prepare different foods and a no salt diet. So many foods have so much salt in them already. A friend of mine swears that fish oil can help. Oh... and I finally found out all about Downton Abbey...I am hooked....I can't wait till the new season starts ;)
I guess moving back to where it feels like home is the best choice. I would love to move out of New Jersey...I grew up here and lived here all of my life, but it is not as I remember... I wish you all the best in your new home :) I can't wait to see all of the spoolies that everyone creates!

I too love vintage toys! So sorry to hear about your diabetes diagnosis! I am a registered dietitian (only part time now), but I can really relate to you "not feeling well"... I am your newest follower and hope that you will visit the "royal castle very soon.
