Homemade Tea

Look at the wonderful book my friend Diane S. gave me this morning. It's called Sipping My Garden -A Simple Way to Make Teas from Plants by Marcia Edwina Herman.

It is full of gorgeous illustrations and recipes for all kinds of herbal teas you can make at home. The book can be ordered from www.seedpodpress.com

AND she treated us to Apricot Muffins for breakfast at the library this morning. She said they were good for us so I ate two!

This is the delicious quiche she made for us last week. The day she retires is the day I'm leaving too! :D

Dothan decided he wanted me to pay attention to him last night. He says keep my hands off that mouse!

I think he was really showing off in front of Ms. Wilma. She was on the floor under my feet.

I stopped long enough to play an old gospel song on the piano this morning before I went out the door for work. "I'm following Jesus each step of the way". A pretty old song, I think I'll play it Sunday at church.

Have a great day,
from Wilma and me
(and Dothan)

Hi, Dorothy. Are there any good new British mystery writers emerging? I need a new cozy series and I've read all the Beatons. You would know what's good...love your taste. =D

thanks, Shirley. Have you tried any of Ann Pursers books. She has 2 different series, The Lois Meade mysteries and the Ivy Beasley mysteries. It's kind of hard to find new series that I like, but have you looked up Rue Morgue Press Mysteries online? They have great titles by old authors. Catherine Aird, Gladys Mitchell are two of my favs. Rebecca Tope is fairly nes, she writes the murder in the Cotswolds books. And Hazel Holt is always a good choice.
Good luck, and let me know if you find something good too!
And if you missed it, read Sarah's Key. I loved it.
Happy Reading

Dorothy,
This book looks wonderful!
I love your header photo with the zinnas or old maids as we always called them. Beautiful!
Dothan is a sweet kitty, I have been through Dothan, Alabama. Is that who Dothan is named after?

It looks like an interesting book, although I'm not good with flavored teas or coffees. I'm trying to drink a lot of green tea right now and ick...I'm really all about a good English Breakfast tea!

My pup loves to nap with her head on the keyboard of my laptop. I've yet to figure out if she just doesn't want me working, or if she likes it because it is warm!

Aww, thats sweet, Sue. She probably just wants to be close to you!

Making your own herbal tea.. sounds fun! Your friends cooking looks yummy. You lucky girl! Dothan is beautiful! I always wish I could learn piano. I learned a couple of notes. But I was a violin player as a child!
Blessings,
Susie

Tea from my own garden would feel like such an accomplishment and I could customize the flavor to my liking. Thanks for sharing it on Hearth & Soul.
