Bletchley Circle

Did you watch this last night on PBS?

DVD available from www.amazon.com on May 14, 2013

The first part came on last night.
Hopefully, the second part will be on next Sunday night.

Four women who worked as code breakers at Bletchley Park during WWII have taken up civilian lives. Susan, has collated data about a series of murders. She tries to convince Scotland Yard she knows where another body is, but they are unable to locate it and dismiss her. She turns to her three friends and they work out where the next victim will be taken, find the body, then decide they are the only ones who can track down the killer.
This show is so awesomely good.
I know I was born in the wrong era.

The clothes, the effort it took to survive, no political correctness,
just real people.

The old train travel.

Another time, another place.

Have a great week,
Dorothy and Ms.Wilma

Thanks for sharing this, it looks really good! Usually so much rubbish on.
Don't think we have PBS so will have to wait for amazon.

Darn, I missed it! I'll check the PBS schedule, sometimes they repeat it the day before or day of the next one. Thanks Dorothy!

Have you seen "The Hour"? that series is excellent too. Can't wait for the next season of Downton Abbey!

Oh I hope I can find this set! I got hooked on Foyles War last summer and we have now watched the entire series twice! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Then I watched Land Girls but that was only one season long despite the fact that I found it quite interesting!

I've not heard about this series yet but it certainly looks good. Like it that the ladies' faces are not too brightly painted (except for the one, but that is her role), as the average woman in England at that time would not have gone about her daily life all made-up, but always properly dressed.

PBS and England ... getting lots of shows and raves. That era does seem lost - doesn't it?

I reopened my old Google blog -- easier for me than open ID comments and easier for Google bloggers too.

Take care, Jenn

It sounds interesting, but we don't watch it.

Have several shows we keep up with but other than that....usually don't have time to watch too many others.

Hi! I saw your blog on ImagiMeri's and had to check it out! Sooo adorable!
How did I miss this show on PBS??? Am I on a different schedule? I've got to get to the bottom of this mystery! ;)
You should read Mr Churchill's secretary- they talk about Bletchley Park and it is an amazingly good book!
